First workshop with stakeholders for the Study on the Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan

On 6 November, Open Evidence and PwC organised the first workshop with stakeholders under the Study on mapping and evaluating the implementation of the Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan, conducted for the European Commission (HaDEA and DG SANTE).

The objective of the workshop was to present the preliminary findings of the Study, namely on Task 1 ‘Future proofing analysis’, which assesses ongoing and expected technological, societal and policy developments likely to affect the implementation of the Plan, and on Task 2 ‘country analysis’ reviewing the implementation of national strategies and measures against cancer and the barriers to implementation.

Around 100 stakeholders attended the workshop either in Brussels or online, representing European institutions, international organisations, national authorities, associations of civil society, healthcare professionsals, the pharmaceutical and medtech industries, and academia.

A final workshop will be organised at the end of the Study to present the results of all tasks of the Study.
