Assessing the impact of ICT-enabled Social Innovation Initiatives in the EU
Open Evidence, in consortium with the Research Institute of Economics – Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies and EY, has been awarded a contract with the European Commission, Joint Research Centre for the development and piloting of a computer-based model that can assess the impacts of ICT-enabled social innovation initiatives promoting social investment in the EU.
To address unemployment, poverty and social exclusion posed by the economic crisis and an ageing population, urging Member States to prioritise social investment and the modernisation of their welfare systems. Implementation of the SIP is supported by the three-year project “ICT-enabled Social Innovation in support to the implementation of the EU Social Investment Package” (IESI), aimed at better understanding how ICT-enabled social innovation initiatives can contribute to simplify administrations, to better target benefits and services, to improve service provision, to high-quality and cost-effective services meeting the needs of citizens.
Within this context, the aim of the IESI project is to develop a methodological framework (i-FRAME) to assess the impacts generated – from micro to macro level – by ICT-enabled social innovation initiatives promoting social investment in the EU.
