New report on algorithmic management practices in regular workplaces

Open Evidence has contributed to the study “Algorithmic Management practices in regular workplaces: case studies in logistics and healthcare” by delivering eight case studies analysing specific establishment in the logistic and healthcare sector located in Italy and France. This study, which is a joint project by JRC and ILO, represents a pioneering field research on the topic of algorithmic management in the workplace.  

The research objective was to investigate the impact of the algorithmic management on work organisation, job quality and industrial relations in the logistics and healthcare sectors, in two European countries. In order to do so, between October 2022 and January  2023, Open Evidence has conducted online and in person interviews with employees of selected establishments in Italy and France and collected information concerning the overall use of algorithmic management and its impact and implications.
